The Autism Reference Group for Leeds will hold two meetings next month, both to ask for views of autistic adults on mental health services in the Leeds area. One group will take place in-person and the other will be online.

Both groups will be facilitated by the Yorkshire Autism AIM team and will be free to attend. The groups will ask questions including:

  • Whether you have accessed autism-specific counselling services and what, if anything, made them better than other mental health services
  • What would make mental health services in Leeds better for autistic people
  • What were the barriers to you accessing mental health services in Leeds?

Any feedback given will be anonymously fed back to the Leeds Adult Autism Partnership Board.

When are the groups?

The online group will be on Tuesday 5th September from 4pm-5:30pm. Meanwhile, the in-person group will be on Tuesday 12th September from 6pm-7pm at the Lovell Park Hub, which is at this address:

Lovell Park Hub
Wintoun Street
Leeds
LS7 1DA

The online group will be on Zoom. To join, please use these details:

If you have never been to the Hub before and want to know how to get there, directions are available on the Our Locations page of our website. Pictures of what the different rooms at the Hub look like are on our Hub Visual Guide page.

The groups are for all autistic adults (aged 18 and over) who live in the Leeds City Council area. If you would like to join the online group, please email us at [email protected]. If you want to come to the in-person group, all you need to do is turn up at the Hub on the day.

Online survey

If you cannot make either group but would still like to share your thoughts, there is also an online survey. It has a few questions about accessing mental health services and all feedback given will be anonymised. Please click on this link to access the survey:

The deadline to send responses is Tuesday 12th September at 7pm. To say thanks for taking part, there is a prize draw where four lucky winners will get a £25 Amazon voucher. If you want to be in the draw, please let us know at the end of the survey.

For any questions about the survey, please email the Yorkshire Autism AIM team at [email protected].
