Later this year, a big autism information event will be held in Leeds. AutistiCon: A Leeds Autism Event will take place on Tuesday 13th June, will be at the Leeds Playhouse and is FREE to attend! It follows on from last year’s Leeds Autism Show and Bigger and Better in Leeds, which was held from 2015-2019.

Following a public survey we ran earlier this year, we decided to rename the event AutistiCon: A Leeds Autism Event based on suggestions made in the survey by the local community.

At the event, you can expect to see:

  • Autistic guest speakers and professional speakers, who will be confirmed closer to the event
  • Information stalls from local services working with autistic adults and children
  • Content from autistic people about their experiences

Logos for all the event organisers

The event is being organised by Leeds Autism Services, Leeds Autism AIM and Yorkshire Autism AIM (part of The Advonet Group), Specialist Autism Services, Leeds ABC, Forum Central, Leeds City Council and Lighthouse Futures Trust.

Exciting plans

The venue will include a space for stalls and a theatre where you can watch guest speakers. The Playhouse has an on-site café where you can get your own refreshments and food.

It is nearby to other places you can get food, including Leeds Bus Station and the Coop on New York Street. It is also wheelchair accessible and is within easy reach of most bus routes into and out of the city centre.

More information including opening times, who our guest speakers are, booking and stallholders will be revealed closer to the date. If you would like to receive updates about speakers, stallholders and more closer to the event, please sign up at this link: https://forms.office.com/e/WtnMACXSaK

Is there a prize for the winner?

Yes, we will be giving the winner a prize… we’re not just sure what it is just yet, but we’ll keep all entrants up to date as soon as we find out more.

The winning entry will be given full credit, and their logo will feature on all future AutstiCon promotional materials.

How do I enter?

Logos can be entered in any format, so you can enter whether you prefer pencils, pens, paint, pastels or digital designs!

Entries should be submitted by email using the button below. You can either send your design as an attachment, or as a download link.

If you have designed a logo in a non-digital format, then you can submit a clear photo of your entry.

The closing date for entries is midnight on Sunday 16th April.

Are there any rules for the logo design?

There aren’t any rules as such, so let your imagination run wild!

All we ask is that you avoid including images of jigsaw pieces, as many autistic people do not like this association with autism.

Who will choose the winner?

The winner will be chosen by the Autisticon 2023 steering group.

This group is made up of autistic people, professionals and family carers.

We hope to choose a winner by Friday 21st April 2023.
