In April and May this year, we are running more training sessions for anyone who would like to become a volunteer autism mentor with us. The training is free and spread across three sessions: Autism Awareness, a volunteer induction and mentor training.

Our mentoring service involves pairing a fully-trained volunteer mentor with a mentee, an autistic adult who wants help to identify, set and achieve life goals. Mentors and mentees meet regularly, usually once every two weeks. Some people who have been in mentoring matches have gone on to achieve goals such as getting into work and finding activities that meet their needs.

When is the training?

The dates and times for each session are as follows:

  • Saturday 29th April, 10am-3:30pm– Autism Awareness Training
  • Wednesday 3rd May, 5pm-8pm– Volunteer Induction
  • Saturday 13th May, 11am-3:30pm – Mentoring Training

If you want to become a mentor, you must attend all three sessions. All three will be led by autistic people who are part of our staff team.

The training will take place downstairs in the Unity Business Centre, at this address:

Unity Business Centre
26 Roundhay Road
