In addition to the services offered by Leeds Autism AIM, there are some other groups who can provide autism-specific support. We list below some of the services/groups who can provide support workers, employment support and/or peer support if needed.
Specialist Autism Services
An autism charity with bases around West Yorkshire, Specialist Autism Services offer the following:

Leeds Autism Services
Leeds Autism Services (LAS) provides residential, day care and outreach services for adults across the autism spectrum in Leeds. They have bases in Armley, Hunslet and Chapel Allerton.
Among the services offered by LAS are support workers, supported accommodation and day care at one of their bases. They do require funding in place to access their services, but it’s easy to make a referral by getting in touch with them.

Leeds Asperger Adults
Leeds Asperger Adults (LAA) are a support group run by and for autistic adults and their parents, carers and partners. Normally, they meet once a month at Leeds Civic Hall on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:45pm to 8:30pm.

NuNu
NuNu are a group in Leeds that are open to neurodivergent adults, with or without a formal diagnosis. They will be meeting regularly, with their first meeting on Wednesday 22nd May 2024 at 5:30pm. More information about them is on their Facebook page: NuNu – Neuro-unique and Neuro-universal

Other services
There are a number of services for Leeds that aren’t autism-specific, but they do offer some services for autistic adults.
- People Matters – they create opportunities for autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities to be more independent and enjoy life
- People In Action – they run social groups and provide activities for autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities
- Pyramid – they run arts and craft groups, as well as work on digital inclusion of adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults
- Purple Patch Arts – they support learning disabled and autistic people to engage with new experiences and reach their full potential through activities like art groups and lifelong learning
Our services
Leeds Autism AIM provides a few autism-specific services. These include:
- Advocacy by phone, email, text chat or video call
- Mentoring for anyone who needs a helping hand for achieving life goals
- Information and signposting towards relevant services
- Peer support offered one-to-one
- Post-diagnostic support if you recently received an autism diagnosis
- Autistic-led online and in-person peer groups
- Resources, including strategy guides and self-advocacy and planning tools
