This September, our Co-Design, Feedback and Review Group will be looking at a series of guides we are working on, about Personal Independence Payment (PIP). The core guides are:
- Guide 1: Starting Your PIP Claim
- Guide 2: How Your Disability Affects You
- Guide 3: Assessments
- Guide 4: Understanding Your PIP Award
- Guide 5: Appeals
- Guide 6: Renewing PIP
After that, we will look at these supplementary guides:
- Definitions
- PIP Evidence
- Reasonable Adjustments
- Mental Wellbeing Through the PIP Process
The guides were made by autistic adults, all working within the wider Autism AIM team. All of the documents are for autistic adults, going through the PIP application process.
When is the group?
The group will be running two sessions to get people’s feedback. There will be an online group, meeting on Tuesday 17th September from 5:30pm-7pm on Zoom.
In addition to that, we will be running an in-person group. This will be on Tuesday 24th September at our drop-in Autism Hub session, from 5:30pm-7pm. The Hub is at this address:
Lovell Park Hub
Wintoun Street
Leeds
LS7 1DA
Directions to the Hub are available on this page of the website: Lovell Autism Hub
Both groups are free to attend, but to take part, you must be an autistic adult aged 18 and over. We would particularly welcome people joining the group who have experience of applying for PIP.
