Early next month, the Leeds Autism Reference Group will meet to talk about what the priorities should be for the new Leeds Adult Autism Strategy. The group, which is for autistic adults who live in the Leeds area, provides an opportunity to have your say on what local services should do.

In next month’s meeting, the Group will look at areas including:

  • Autism acceptance
  • Employment
  • Mental health
  • Access to health services
  • Support before and after a diagnosis

Whatever is raised in this group will then be put forward to the Leeds Adult Autism Partnership Board. They will then use feedback from the group for the Strategy, which will help guide their work for the next few years. Representatives of the Reference Group will be chosen by participants to attend the next Partnership Board meeting, which will be later on in September.

When is the group?

The Group meets on Tuesday 3rd September on Microsoft Teams. It runs from 5pm-6:30pm and is free to attend.

To join, you must be an autistic adult (aged 18 and over) and live in the Leeds City Council area. If you would like to join the group, please email Philip Chan, Leeds City Council’s Neurodiversity Commissioning Programme Leader at [email protected].

He will then send you a link to join the meeting. Please also email Philip if you have any questions about the group.
