Next month, we will be running free training sessions for anyone who would like to become a Peer Support Volunteer with Leeds Autism AIM. This role is for autistic adults only and involves:
- Being matched with an autistic adult, meeting them regularly
- Helping your match to develop strategies for managing day-to-day
- Working on resilience
- Helping your match to overcome barriers
- Providing information
Training will be delivered over two sessions. The first will cover the role itself, while the second session is a volunteer induction. To become a Peer Support Volunteer, you will need to complete both sessions.
When is the training?
The Peer Support training session is on Saturday 7th September from 10:30am to 3:30pm. The Volunteer Induction is on Wednesday 11th September from 5pm-8pm. Refreshments will be provided.
