Next month, the Leeds Autism Reference Group will be looking at the new Leeds Adult Autism Strategy at its’ next online meeting. The Autism Strategy is a document that lists plans for how local services aim to improve the lives of autistic adults living in Leeds. A strategy was last published for 2017-2022 and can be seen here: Leeds Autism Strategy.
The Reference Group will also be asked for their thoughts on a vision or ambition for autistic adults in the Leeds area. It is a forum for autistic adults in Leeds to have their say on what local services should do for them. It is linked to the Leeds Adult Autism Partnership Board, which is made up of commissioners, services like the NHS and representatives of the Reference Groups for autistic adults and carers.
At the end of the meeting, members of the Group can nominate themselves to represent it at the next Autism Partnership Board meeting, where they can share the Group’s thoughts with everyone there.
When is the meeting?
The meeting is on Tuesday 4th June from 4:30pm to 6pm, hosted online on Microsoft Teams. To join, you need to be an autistic adult (aged 18 and over) living in the Leeds City Council area.
If you would like to attend, please email the Leeds Autism AIM team at [email protected]. Then, we will send you the details for joining. If you cannot make the meeting but want to share your thoughts with the Reference Group, please email us at the address given and we will send them to the Group.
