On the last Tuesday before Christmas, Leeds Autism AIM will be running two autistic-led socials on Zoom side-by-side. They will be led by autistic members of the AIM staff team and are free to attend.
One is Christmas-themed and is for anyone who celebrates Christmas. The other will be non-Christmas themed and is for anyone who finds that time of year overloading. The need for both was expressed at one of our Peer Support groups on Zoom.
Some autistic adults find Christmas to be a difficult time of year because of the change in routine and overload from attending social gatherings. Fay, our Volunteer Coordinator, will be leading the Christmas social. The non-Christmas social will be led by Luke, our Information Officer and David, our Hub Supporter.
When are the socials?
They are both on Tuesday 22nd December from 5pm to 6pm. They will be part of the same Zoom session, but each social will be in a separate breakout room.
When you join on the day, we will assign you to the breakout room for each social. You will receive a pop-up invite in Zoom asking you to join the breakout room – click on the join button, then you will be in the chat!
How do I join?
To receive an invite, please email us at [email protected]. Then, we will send you the details closer to the time.
Please note that to join the socials, you must be an autistic adult (aged 18 and over) and live in the Leeds City Council area.
