Leeds Autism AIM have been awarded extra funding to run new fortnightly sessions for newly-diagnosed autistic adults in Leeds. The sessions will be funded by the NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group and will be for people who have received a diagnosis from the Leeds Autism Diagnostic Service (LADS) within six months of getting it.
Starting in June 2019, we will be offering additional support for newly-diagnosed adults. We can offer you up to four appointments, including:
- An initial appointment to find out what you need and go through relevant information
- Up to two one-to-one appointments with a member of of our autistic staff team to explore your autism and strategies that may be helpful
- A final appointment signposting to helpful support and helping you to put forward any needs
- An option to attend our six-week support group, looking at autism in more detail
The sessions are held every two weeks on Thursdays between 4pm and 8pm. They will take place at the Leeds Hearing and Sight Loss Service office in Leeds City Centre. It is on the Headrow, opposite the Leeds Art Gallery. They are a hearing and sight loss service that have offered us their premises as it is in a more central location.
It is easy to access and we will send you on clear directions to the office when you refer. They are located at this address:
