Fresh One Autism Awareness Training from early 2017

A one-day autism awareness training course is being hosted by a Leeds-based, user-led learning disability charity. Connect in the North will be hosting Fresh One, a course delivered for family members of autistic people and autism professionals.

The course will be led by Colin and Elliot Newton. Elliot is an inclusion facilitator who works across the United States, whilst Colin works as an education psychologist. Both delivered a session for Connect in the North last year.

Course details

The course will go in-depth into the following areas:

  • Understanding the sensory, anxiety and movement challenges of people with autism
  • New ways to include the most challenging people
  • The core values surrounding inclusion
  • New skills and processes to strengthen the inclusion of people with autism

The course will take place on Friday 4th February from 10am to 4pm. It will be held at Connect in the North’s office, which can be found at the following address:
