We have a packed schedule of groups for our weekly drop-in, whilst our fortnightly session for booked appointments returns on Friday. Here’s what we have going on next week at the Lovell Autism Hub:
Lovell Autism Hub – Tuesday 12th September – 3:30pm-7pm
First up at Lovell, the Leeds Autism Diagnostic Service (LADS) team have their monthly consultation session from 3:30pm to 6pm. This is for anyone who wants to know more about what an autism diagnosis actually entails. If you want to come to this, you will most likely need to book an appointment.
Next, Carers Leeds have their monthly Carers Group from 5pm to 6:30pm. This is for carers, parents and partners of autistic adults who live in Leeds. The group is a supportive, caring one where people can raise whatever issues they’re experiencing in confidence.
The quarterly Autism Reference Group is on from 5pm to 6:30pm. It feeds into the Leeds Autism Strategy and allows autistic adults in Leeds to raise their views on what autism services in the city should be doing for them. It’s only open to autistic adults living in the Leeds City Council area.
Ian from the Chapeltown Citizens Advice Bureau will be in throughout the session. He is there to give advice and information on subjects such as benefits e.g. PIP/ESA and personal finance.
Our informal cooking session is on from 4pm. Whatever we’re making will be served up as dinner and sold for a reasonable price.
As always, our staff and volunteers will be available to provide advocacy support, information, signposting services and peer support.
Friday Autism Hub – Friday 15th September – 4pm-7pm
At our fortnightly session for booked appointments, we have employment advice for the entire session. We also have Ian from the Chapeltown Citizens Advice Bureau from 4pm to 6pm, to offer advice on issues such as benefits and personal finance.
Our monthly LGBTQIA* support group for autistic adults who identify as LGBTQIA* is on from 5:30pm to 7pm. It’s open to people living in the Leeds area. This month’s topic is Pride.
If you want to come for anything besides the LGBTQIA* group, you need to book an appointment. To do so, please contact us.
