The Autism Reference Group for Leeds will be meeting next month. It is a forum for autistic adults in the Leeds City Council area to have their say on what local services can do for them.

In the meeting, the Group will be focusing on myth busting around autism, asking people in the meeting would like services to know about being autistic. The aim of this will be to help improve access to services for autistic adults in Leeds.

Feedback

As well as that, there will be space for people to raise anything they feel is important. Any feedback in the group will be passed on to the Leeds Adult Autism Partnership Board. The Board consists of representatives from the local council services, health, social care and other services who are able to influence positive change.

At the end of the meeting, up to three members can nominate themselves to represent the Group at the next Partnership Board meeting. This ensures that autistic adults have a voice.

When is the meeting?

It is on Tuesday 2nd September from 4:30pm to 6pm. The meeting is on Microsoft Teams and free to attend. Please note that it is for autistic adults living in the Leeds City Council area only.

If you would like to take part, please email Neurodiversity Commissioning Lead Phil Chan at [email protected] for an invite.

Please also email Phil if you have any questions about the group.
