This July, the Autism AIM – Mental Health Equity Project team will be running two focus group sessions around their survey on accessing mental health services. The aim of the focus groups is to discuss the following three areas:
- Mental Health Access Barriers for autistic adults in Leeds
- Autistic people’s experiences with mental health services in Leeds
- What you would like to see done to improve mental health access for autistic adults
We will be holding the Leeds Focus Group as both an In-person session and an Online session on Zoom.
In-person session
The In-person session will be held on Thursday 31st July at the Community Wellbeing Hub from 5:30pm-7pm. We will provide refreshments, snacks, and a selection of stim tools to use.
Details of how to find the venue can be found on our website together with a video Walk-Through guide. This will help you to know what to expect when you arrive. Please click on this link for more information: Autism Hub – Leeds Autism AIM
Online session
The Online session will take place on Thursday 17th July on Zoom from 5.30pm-7pm. Cameras can be switched off during the online session and the chat feed will be enabled, if you prefer to type than talk. If you opt for this option, you will receive an invite link to your mailbox to join the group on your PC or mobile phone.
Both sessions will be facilitated by the Autism AIM team, with at least one of our autistic staff members. We aim to create a safe neuro-inclusive space to share experiences of mental health. If you have any Reasonable Adjustment requests to be able to attend either of the sessions, please reply to the is email and let us know the details.
