This summer, we are working with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) to help make engagement with their work more accessible for autistic adults. The WYCA are responsible for decisions on areas including transport, housing and jobs across the county.
They want to make sure they hear from a wider range of voices, especially people who may face barriers to taking part in consultations and engagement with their work. As part of this, they are developing a practical guide to help WYCA staff:
- Communicate better
- Reduce barriers, and
- Make engagement more inclusive
They want this guide to be shaped by people with lived experience.
Invitation
We are inviting you to take part in a small, informal focus group about engaging with autistic people, where you can share:
- What makes it hard to take part
- What would make it easier
- What good engagement looks like
Your input will directly influence how the WYCA engage with disabled communities in the future.
