We are looking for autistic people who would like to become Autism Peer Support Volunteers with us. The role involves being matched with an autistic adult in Leeds to help them understand their autism diagnosis and develop strategies for managing day-to-day.
The main activities and duties include:
- Meeting with the autistic person you are supporting regularly for 6 sessions or up to six months
- Meeting your match on a fortnightly or monthly basis – this can be done in-person or remotely
- Working with your match to understand their goals and interests
- Help your match to speak up for themselves, using Autism AIM’s autism specific self-advocacy resources and guides

Who we are looking for
To be an Autism Peer Support Volunteer, you need to be autistic yourself and aged 18 and over.
If you would like to become a volunteer with us, you will need to complete three training sessions, which include:
- The Advonet Group Volunteer Induction (2.5 hours)
- Autism Awareness & Working with Autistic Adults Training (4.5 hours)
- Autism Peer Support Training (4.5 hours)
