At this time of year, supermarkets, banks and shopping centres in Leeds have different opening hours. They are typically closed on Christmas Day and either run reduced hours or are closed entirely for other dates like New Year’s Day.

Supermarkets

Asda – Pudsey, Killingbeck, Holt Park, Morley, Middleton, Beeston, Harehills, Wortley, Otley, Kirkstall

Larger branches: Open from 5am-Midnight or 7am-11pm on Tuesday 23rd December. Open from 5am-7pm or 7am-7pm on Christmas Eve. Closed on Christmas Day.

Open from 9am-6pm or 9am-7pm on Boxing Day and from 7am-8pm on New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day, Asda are typically open from 9am-7pm.

Tesco – Seacroft, Roundhay, Garforth, Bramley

Larger branches: Typically open on Christmas Eve (Wednesday 24th December) from 6am-7pm. Closed on Christmas Day (Thursday 25th December). Open from 9am-6pm on Boxing Day (Friday 26th December).

Branches are normally open from 6am-7pm on New Year’s Eve (Wednesday 31st December) and from 9am-6pm on New Year’s Day (Thursday 1st January 2026).

All stores except those at Shell forecourts will be open on Christmas Day (Thursday 25th December). Most shops will be closed on Boxing Day (Friday 26th December) and New Year’s Day (Thursday 1st January 2026).

Larger branches: Closed on Christmas Day. Open from usual opening time to 7pm on Christmas Eve and from 10am-7pm on Boxing Day.

Banks and Post Offices

All banks and Post Office branches will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, as all those dates are Bank Holidays. Banks will also be closed on Sunday 21st and Sunday 28th December.

Shopping centres

Trinity Leeds

Open from 9am-5pm on Christmas Eve. Closed on Christmas Day. Open from 9am-6pm on Boxing Day. Open from 9am-5pm on New Year’s Eve and from 9am-6pm on New Year’s Day. More details are on their Opening Hours page.

St John’s Centre

Open until 7pm on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd December.

They will be closed on Christmas Day. On Bank Holidays, they are normally open from 10:30am to 5pm. More details are on their Information page.

Merrion Centre

It will be closed on Christmas Day and have special opening hours on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Victoria Leeds

It’s open from 11am-5pm on Sunday 21st December and from 10am-7pm on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd December. On Christmas Eve, it’s open from 9am-5pm and closed on Christmas Day.

Victoria Leeds is open from 10am-6pm on Boxing Day and Saturday 27th December. 11am-5pm are the opening hours for Sunday 28th December and 10am-6pm for Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th December. White Rose Centre

On Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd December, it’s open from 9am-10pm and from 8am-5pm on Christmas Eve. It’s closed on Christmas Day.

Boxing Day opening hours are 9am-7pm. On Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th December, it’s open from 10am-9pm and from 10am-5pm on New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day, it’s open from 11am-5pm. More details are on their Opening Hours page.
