As you may have seen on our socials and website recently, our Autism and Suicide Prevention Project (ASPP) launched in April this year. For today – World Suicide Prevention Day (Wednesday 10th September 2025) – we are sharing a little more about this work.
As a service made up mostly of autistic adults, we know first-hand the mental health struggles that affect so many autistic individuals. According to Autistica, up to 35% of autistic people have considered suicide and up to 25% have attempted suicide or have suicidal behaviours.
With so many within the autistic population experiencing suicide ideation, this project will aim to address the issues behind it.
One-to-one peer support
That’s why we’re so grateful to be able to offer one-to-one peer support sessions through this project, for autistic adults in Leeds receiving little or no funded support who have experienced or are experiencing suicidal thoughts or feelings.
This service is free to access and will be delivered by autistic adults.
You are not alone – let’s keep the conversation going.

Please note that the ASPP is not a crisis service. To find mental health crisis services in Leeds, please visit the MindWell website.
Please also note that we are not taking any more referrals due to the project coming to an end in March 2026.
