Lovell Autism Hub

This coming week, we’re welcoming a guest speaker to our weekly drop-in session, as well as holding one of our regular peer support groups. Here’s what is coming up at this week’s Lovell Autism Hub:

Lovell Autism Hub – Tuesday 25th July – 3:30pm-7pm

First on at our drop-in, Sadie Dunne, Lead Nurse for Autism and Learning Disabilities with the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT), will be talking about their work with autistic people. Her talk will discuss how staff at St James’s Hospital, the Leeds General Infirmary and other hospitals around Leeds can support autistic patients in a number of ways.

Sadie will be around for questions and answers after her talk. She will be on from 4pm to 5:30pm and will talk about their magnets for hospital beds and their new flagging system.

Next up, there’s our monthly Employment Peer Support Group. On from 5:30pm to 7pm, the group is there for any autistic people in Leeds who want to share their feelings about finding work, keeping work and volunteering.

Ian from the Chapeltown Citizens Advice Bureau will be in for the entire session to offer free advice on a range of topics. These include benefits such as PIP and ESA, housing and personal finance.

As per usual, our staff and volunteers are on hand to provide advocacy support and give information and signposting!
